START OF SCHOOL
Finally school started today. Not sure whether i'm too excited or wat, wasn't able to sleep well yesterday nite. Was trying to sleep early.. hmm.. at 11plus so that i can wake up early and prove to my fren that I wont be late for class.. haaa.. but then think i only fell asleep at abt 12mn. Then i woke up at 3plus.. got difficulty to sleep back again.. was tossing and turning on my bed.. then fell asleep again finally. Then was woken up at abt 6am again.. Argghhh... so laid in my bed till 7am. And yes! I wasnt late for my class. Haaa.. Guess what? When I told my fren abt me feeling excited abt school and not able to sleep well, majority of them experienced the same thing as me. So all of us were actually very very very tired and sleepy in class as today's lecture was on intro and abit of lesson so was quite boring. But thank God lecture ended at 12pm and so all of us went to a new cafe in school to chill out and relax. Reached home abt 2pm and was totally zonked out.. slept till 530pm. Not used to waking up so early after slacking too much for these 2 weeks and waking up near noon nearly everyday. Was so tired.
Anyway, think this semester will be quite jia lat. Tho' lots of free days but it also comes with tons of projects. Attended the lectures today and all modules require us to do projects. For my major, i can either go for 100% CA or 70% CA and 30% exam. Most probably, I'll go for the 100% CA. I wont want to go thru' the stress for the exam cos the other 2 modules' exams fall on the same day with only 2 hrs break in between. So without having exam for this major module, i'll have more time to study for my other 2 modules. And like wat many pple said.. who would fail a project! So guess everyone felt that it is safer to take 100% CA with juz 1 more team project and 1 more quiz. The made up of the 100% CA is 2 team project, 1 individual project, 1 literature critique and 2 quizzes. It is really scary to see that there are so many projects juz in a short 3 and 1/2 mths of school term. Lots of researches, lots of time, lots of mtg up for discussion. But i'm still glad i chose this module as my major cos heard that the other module have no lecture notes at all... need to read up ref books and copy lots of notes in class. I'm the type that if there's no lecture notes i wont be able to concentrate in class. SO that module is not good for me! heh! =p
As for my other module.. Comestics and Perfumes. No No.. it's not a makeover class. heee.. Sounds interesting yah? Guess it will be cos have taken modules similar to this in my Poly days and also worked in the fragrance industry for a year. There are 2 lecturers teaching this module.. met one liao.. interesting lady. She teaches the part on cosmetics: THE ART OF ILLUSION. She told us that there's a cosmetic company's slogan that goes: WE SELL HOPE! haaa.. It's really quite funny.. am quite entertained in her lecture.. hope this continues. In the lecture, we also watch short clips of the movie "ELIZABETH". How cosmetics was so important in that movie and that cosmetics and dyeing of hair was oredi available at that time. To turn Queen Elizabeth's hair from blonde to orange and to turn her face sooooo white at the end of the show. Actually she really looks like a ghost. heeee.. But anyways, i think i will like this module. Wanted to take it since year 1 but it's always been a 3 MC module.. and finally this yr they increased it to a 4 MC module. Wooohooo.. so i took it!! And this module got a grp project too. So with juz these 2 modules... I'm having 5 projects!!!!!!!!!!!!
My third module is a lab... no projects but lab reports every week. Hiaz... I really dread going to lab cos it is 8 hrs.. from 9-5pm without break! And heard from pple who took it before, it's really quite siong and they really work till 5pm most of the time. Arghhh!!!!! And wat makes it worst... the course has oral exam on the organic chemistry part. Something that i have never understand and scored since year 1. haaa.. so never took it anymore when i'm given the choice.
Okie.. enuf of my modules. Hmmm.. Oooo.. i've got a new born niece. Was borned on 6 Jan. But haven't visited her yet. Wanted to do so on mon but didnt cos my sis-in-law was discharged. Hopefully tml my niece will be discharged so i can go over to my brother's house to stay and visit her. My niece is detected with jaundice so gotta to be kept in the hospital for a longer time. Pray that she will recover soon. Dun know her english name yet... but heard from one of my brother's fren who is in my region (she oredi visited and i have not.. hee) that it will either be Ianna or Hannah. It's just funny that my brother always like to use a guy's name and turn it into a girl's name. The first one was Joella (Joel-la) and now Ianna (Ian-na). As for Hannah... it's the name that my older niece gave her baby sister.. and why that name?? Cos Hannah is her good fren in school. Haaa.. it's really funny.. ever since last yr, whenever we ask her what's mei mei's name going to be, she will always say Hannah. And when we say it wont be.. she will be very upset and angry. Haaaa.. So guess now... my bro and sis-in-law are still deciding on which one to choose.
